Kate Lewis has been perfecting the art of developing and maintaining business relationships since 1995. Lewis has developed leadership and client service methods to share with students after years of success in the corporate and international business arenas and entrepreneurial experience with two small businesses. In 2009, Mrs. Lewis formalized her education with certification in Corporate Etiquette and International Protocol through the prestigious Protocol School of Washington.
Lewis began her career in corporate relations and as an international liaison, sent abroad fresh out of college to deal with an unhappy foreign client. She was tested—and proven—in the fire of this experience, and found the greatest tool in her kit to be not the knowledge of numbers and terminology she gained from her business and finance degree, but rather the social intelligence she learned in business school and in the workplace. Her experience in international business and with two successful small-business startups taught her that relationship building is just as important as hard business skills.
Today, Lewis trains businesspeople, academicians, student-athletes, and even children on the intricacies of etiquette, protocol and interpersonal skills in a fun and engaging way. For corporate clients, she leads seminars and conducts one-on-one coaching sessions on the intricacies of business etiquette, corporate dining skills, interpersonal skills and customer service. For learning institutions, she works with both academic and athletic directors on leadership development, etiquette and ethics education. Her belief is that anyone in any walk of life could stand to benefit from a better understanding of how others perceive them and how to improve that perception using simple methods that still allow the personality to shine through.
Lewis has served on various boards of directors for academic and non-profit institutions, currently serving on the Board of Trustees of The Westfield School. She writes a blog called The Civilized Minute and is a contributing etiquette and protocol expert for journalists nationwide, having been featured in parenting magazines and blogs. She has delivered speeches on the subjects of etiquette and protocol to industry groups, manufacturing companies, college faculties, collegiate sports teams and a graduating high school class. She lives in Perry, GA.

Kate's Quips
Having nice manners is not about perfection. It's about knowing the rules of etiquette well enough to display grace under pressure.
Having poor people skills in business is a distraction that no one can afford when it's time to make a deal.
People take you at your actions and your words. Both speak loudly and clearly.
In business, it matters how we view and act on the needs of others, it matters how we behave, and it matters if we are nice.
Possessing the skills necessary to be marketable and, at the very least, pleasant to be around is practical and necessary in business.
Superb communication and interpersonal skills are among the most important characteristics a professional should possess.
Business etiquette pulls everything together by ensuring one displays respect, civility and consideration.
